ARIAN’s Vice President Olatunji uses birthday celebration to drive insurance education

The Vice President, Association of Insurance Agents of Nigeria (ARIAN) Jegede Olatunji, has devoted today which is his birthday, to educate the public on how to eke a better living through insurance.

Olatunji, who over the years has been in the forefront of insurance education and have impacted several lives through insurance, believes insurance remains one of the best tools to stem poverty.

The insurance agent turned politician, has continued to use every given opportunity to assist mankind, a determination which led him into politics, a larger platform which he is leveraging to ensure better life for the masses.

“Today is my birthday as I rededicate it to the service of insurance. I use this day to air my commitment to the insurance education and penetration in Nigeria.

“As I’m marking a new age, I strongly believe what I can give is to let people know what insurance is capable of doing for them, as our society is shifting away from communal living.

“With the rate at which risk is increasing in our society, there is need for vigorous enlightenment so as to help insurance buying public to protect and recreate wealth,” he said.

He noted that as a stakeholder in the insurance industry and in Nigeria and as a nation builder, it does break his heart when he sees people going through unpleasant situation that insurance could have assist them to address but lack of knowledge had made a lot of these victims to suffer.

“Close to two decades in my career, hearing people say they don’t want or need insurance, shows there is knowledge gabs which I am having a big concern for while I have resolved to encourage my colleagues in the industry to do more because insurance remains a vital means to reduce poverty and to alleviate problems,” he said.

Olatunji remains one of the beacons of light in the insurance industry as he has through collective means and personal efforts made contributions that are reshaping insurance practice.
