Concerned citizens have implored annuitants of African Alliance Insurance Plc to take their unpaid seven months pension benefits to Oba Lesekese, as against sango and obakoso.
They made the appeal while reacting to the report published by this medium yesterday, stating that Oba Lesekese – God Almighty is the only one that can help them out of their present plights.
They also appealed to the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to assist the management of the underwriting firm to resolve the problem.
They enjoined insurance operators to learn from the challenge faced by African Alliance Insurance and ensure they don’t suffer a similar problem.
Oba Lesekese is the tithe of a gospel song recently released by Chuxudo and it means God who is prompt in solving problems.
Annuitants in a bit to express their frustration, have resolved to report the company to deities such as sango and obakoso.
A document shared with Inspenonline by some of them reads:
AFTER SEVEN MONTHS OF NONE PAYMENT OF MY ANNUITY BY AAI
Then, let nobody blame me if l report AAI & Collaborators to “SANGO, OBAKOSO” for immediate sanction.
I don’t want or requested for two months payments, but FULL PAYMENT OF THE ARREARS OF SEVEN MONTHS from August,2024-March,2025
May all the deities in Yorubaland, gets ready to act;for its my rights to get paid when due and AII & Collaborators have denied me that agreement since last year August,2024 till today 1st April, 2025 my entitlements.
SANGO, OBATALA,OBANTA, AGEMO etc, get ready for ACTION.
I blame NAICOM for what is happening in AAI. NAICOM did not and up to now they have not done effective monitoring and supervision of AAI .NAICOM met with operators sometime in February, 2025 and gave them an open ended directive that they should settle all outstanding claims. That they will charge operators if NAICOM assist any of them to settle the outstanding claims. Till today, AAI could only pay annuitants only two months claims out of the outstanding claims of seven months. NAICOM does not seem to help the interim management and board it appointed for AAI after sacking the previous board and management. If NAICOM is a serious regulator of the insurance industry, they should have investigated the sacked management and the board ( even though one does not know what they are doing to the sacked management and board) and let the customers of AAI know the real cause of the problem. Is it solvency issue or is it just poor management that made AAI like this.AAI problem started manifesting from March, 2024. If NAICOM was doing effective monitoring, they should have noted this and intervene to solve the problem. They only intervened in October,.2024 and by then the situation had became worse.
As at today, AAI is owing annuitants outstanding payments of five months, since they paid two months in April, 2025 out of the seven months outstanding . When April is included, they are owing annuitants six months. This kind of payments in.bits and pieces don’t help annuitants, yet NAICOM is there watching, without taking any action.
As said by my colleagues, we are taking our case to Allah for necessary action against AAI and its collaborators. NAICOM can not absolve itself from blame, being a Regulator. While they claim to be working for the customers, the customers are not feeling their impact. The interim management and the board continue to get their monthly salaries without delay as at when due while customers they claim to be working for are being paid in bits and pieces and also at irregular intervals. This is a glaring case of injustice. AAI should put themselves in.the position of annuitants and let us know how they feel,.please.
