Cornerstone Insurance Plc, a leading player in Nigeria’s insurance sector, has officially launched the Cornerstone Academy. The comprehensive digital learning and development platform is designed to revolutionize talent growth and professional excellence within the organization and the broader financial services landscape.

The Academy is structured as a hybrid ecosystem, integrating a sophisticated digital environment with physical training infrastructure. Following the completion of the Learning Management System (LMS) by the Human Capital team in December 2025, the virtual classroom is now live.

Employees across the Group can access resources via the official portal and a dedicated mobile application, ensuring “anytime, anywhere” learning.

Strategic Investment in People
Speaking on the milestone, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Insurance Plc, Stephen Alangbo, described the initiative as a deliberate investment in the future of the industry.

“At Cornerstone, we believe that our people are our strongest advantage. The launch of the Cornerstone Academy represents our commitment to building a future-ready workforce equipped for a fast-evolving financial services landscape,” Alangbo stated.

He added that the academy is designed to embed a culture of continuous learning that aligns with the Group’s long-term growth ambitions.

Two-Phase Strategic Framework
The academy’s operations are divided into two distinct phases:

Short-Term: Establishing a structured framework for all entities within the Cornerstone Group to ensure consistent capability development and service excellence.

Long-Term: Evolving into a premier knowledge hub for the insurance and financial services sector across Africa, driving industry-wide capacity building and thought leadership.

While the digital platform is fully operational, the company is set to launch physical facilities to enhance hybrid and experiential learning. This blended approach will feature leadership labs and simulations to complement the virtual curriculum.

By launching this academy, Cornerstone Insurance—which is licensed and re-certified by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM)—reaffirms its status as a tech-driven, people-focused insurer committed to innovation and integrity.
