Coronation Life Assurance has announced the appointment of Muibat Jimoh as its new Executive Director, Operations. The move reflects the company’s drive to strengthen its operational backbone and enhance service delivery to customers nationwide.
Muibat is a seasoned insurance professional with over 16 years of experience. Her career is marked by her leadership in life insurance operations, underwriting, claims management, reinsurance, and regulatory compliance. She holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science from the University of Lagos and an M.Sc. in Insurance and Risk Management (with Distinction) from Birmingham City University, UK. She is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).
Prior to joining Coronation Life Assurance, Muibat spent over 16 years at Cornerstone Insurance Plc, where she rose to lead Life Technical Operations. In that capacity, she championed initiatives that enhanced underwriting and claims processes, optimized policy administration, and introduced innovative solutions that significantly improved efficiency and service delivery. She later served as a Non-Executive Director and subsequently as Executive Director, Technical & Operations at Hilal Takaful Nigeria Ltd, where she oversaw critical functions including reinsurance, underwriting, claims, and finance. Beyond her executive roles, Muibat is actively engaged in industry development. She serves as Chairperson of the Nigerian Mortality Table Development Committee and Vice Chairperson of the Life Offices Committee at the Nigerian Insurers Association
In her new position at Coronation Life Assurance, Muibat will lead underwriting, claims, reinsurance, policy administration, and other key operational units. She will also work closely with the executive team to drive process improvement, operational excellence, and digital transformation initiatives.
