The NEM ‘She Means Business’ prize presentation for it’s second edition was held at the corporate head office in Lagos on Friday, where five winners, received N100, 000 grant each in an occasion to celebrate the 2025 International Women’s Day.
The General Manager, Corporate Service, NEM Insurance Plc, Mrs Mojisola Teluwo, expressed her happiness and excitement welcoming the winners, Miracle Nneoma Njoku, Matimoju Olawunmi Regina, Toheebat Eniola Ismail, Taofikat Adetayo Jacob, Grace Oluwadamilola Adeifa, and guests saying, “We celebrate women resilience, innovation and taking action’ she congratulated all the winners, stating that it’s their hard work that earned them the deserved support, we can’t wait to see your business bloom’ see said.
According to Mrs. Teluwo; “At NEM Insurance, we are proud to support women in business, let’s keep breaking barriers and accelerate action,”
In his remarks, the NEM Executive Director, Finance & Investment, Idowu Semowo who also represented the Managing Director advised the winners to invest wisely as they have come this far and being young, he offered them free counsel on how to grow their funds. He noted that women are factual in anything they do.
Responding, all the winners expressed their appreciation to NEM Insurance for the empowerment gesture and promised to utilize the fund well for their business growth.
However, one of them, Grace Adeifa, who is a fashion designer was very emotional, noting she was not expecting to win, having to make, upload and submitted her video on the closing day for entry. She believed that with this kind of support from NEM, she will go national and global designing brands for women and the community.
The Group Head, Marketing, NEM Insurance, Pius Azurunwa, who also anchor the brief ceremony recalled that the NEM ‘She Means Business’ is the initiative from the Chairman of the company and they will keep doing well to sustain it going forward.
He tasked the winners to be ambassadors, ‘help to preach the gospel, tell others about NEM, anytime you need insurance needs, as you grow, your business will grow even saying from this infancy level, you need insurance.
The event was preceded by the cutting of cake to mark the International Women’s Day by all women workers at the foyer of the company in Lagos.
