The “Pages to Places” literacy initiative focuses mainly on education and leverages after-school reading clubs in primary schools across eight Nigerian states to instill a love for reading in young students.

The inaugural edition, ‘Pages to Places 1.0,’ was a resounding success, making its mark in 12 schools across six states in Nigeria—Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kaduna, and Ogun.

This initiative, which was a testament to Leadway’s commitment to education, distributed over 1,500 books, sparking a love for reading among young students.

This year’s edition, tagged “Pages to Places 2.0,” is themed “Travel through Stories” and aims to broaden students’ horizons through the power of storytelling. Scheduled to run from May 22 to June 6, 2024, the initiative will extend to 4 new states: Ibadan, Kano, Abeokuta, and Anambra.

It will feature a nationwide book reading tour and interactive storytelling sessions in primary schools to inspire young minds.

Commenting on this commendable initiative, the Group Chief Marketing Officer of Leadway Holdings, Olusakin Labeodan, expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s programme and its potential impact. “The Pages to Places initiative symbolises our commitment to nurturing our young learners’ curiosity and creativity, opening up their minds to limitless avocations, and expanding their cognitive abilities through well-curated imaginative thoughts—leading them to places beyond the now as they look to birth the future.

“This year’s expanded initiative will feature the donation of Pages to Places Mobile Library, a branded bookshelf stocked with enlightening, interactive, and informative books, to selected schools in order to support their reading clubs and provide resources for students.

“We also believe this initiative will extend beyond the children and encourage local communities to support and participate, fostering an enabling environment for a vibrant learning and reading culture.’
