The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Joyce Odiachi as the Group Head Technical & Operations of Cornerstone Insurance Plc.
Dr. Joyce Odiachi is a seasoned insurance practitioner of over 22 years experience with proven expertise in strategic business start-up, underwriting, risk management, regulatory reporting, process controls and relationship management.
She is responsible for providing consistent and reliable risk management analysis for the management and clients of Cornerstone Insurance Plc.
She started her career in TransGlobal Insurance Brokers and has since worked with a top-rated insurance firms including; Zenith General Insurance Company Limited where she worked for over 10 years before leaving as Head, Claims and Compliance.
She joined Cornerstone, from FIN Insurance where she was the Head, Technical Division and was fully involved in the system turnaround including development of a claims reserve policy for improved bottom-line.
An Insurance graduate from the University of Lagos, she also holds M.Sc (Management) and a PhD (Management) from the University of Lagos.
Dr. Odiachi is a Fellow of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) and Risk Managers Society of Nigeria (RIMSON).
She is a consummate professional with a strong passion for the growth of the insurance industry in Nigeria and has published several articles both locally and internationally all geared towards highlighting the Nigerian Insurance Industry.
She is actively involved in supporting the industry as she has served at various times in various capacities both at the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA), Risk Managers Society of Nigeria and Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA).
She is currently a member of the Media and Publicity Committee of the CIIN; Chairperson, Motor Technical Committee of NIA; Vice President Treasury of RIMSON; and the Education Secretary of PILA.
Known for her diligence; integrity; hard work and passion to succeed, Dr. Joyce Odiachi is definitely one of the new breeds to watch out for, as the insurance industry continues to evolve, grow and raise new breed of leaders.
