NCRIB-LAC pegs NIIRA success on leadership competence

The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers Lagos Area Committee (NCRIB-LAC) has called for a new leadership competence across the insurance industry so as to maximize the enormous benefits provided by the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025.
This submission was made by professionals at the NCRIB-LAC 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM)/2025 End of Year Lecture which held today in Lagos.
The Chairman of NCRIB-LAC Olufemi Oduwole, speaking on the theme of the lecture: ‘Making Insurance Attractive Through New Leadership Competencies’ said NIIRA 2025 has given the required leeway for the insurance industry to break the ice ceiling by harnessing all potentials for growth and Sustainability, stressing that brokers being critical players in insurance value chain must of necessity position themselves for this change through leadership competencies of each professional.

He tasked professionals at the event to explore opportunities provided by the lecture to upscale their skills.
Oduwole also used the event to give accounts of what his administration has done since it took the saddle of leadership of the Committee.
According to him, the Committee under his leadership has sustained legacy initiatives of the founding fathers and continued to drive the Committee with new initiatives.
He submitted that the desire to take insurance to the youth, particularly secondary school students is gaining the intended traction, as the Committee’s Annual Secondary School Quiz Competition has produced new winners.
The NCRIB-LAC boss eulogized the winners who were handsomely rewarded at the event.
President of NCRIB Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe, applauded the NCRIB-LAC executive and members for flying high the broking flag.
Speaking on the theme, she implored brokers to innovate and upscale their competencies, stating that broking practice is evolving and brokers must align with latest trends.
The Guest Speaker, Chief Talent Officer YF Talent Partners Yemi Faseun, exposed brokers to how leadership competence would promote their businesses and cause them to remain distinguished in their practice.

NCRIB-LAC at the event presented prizes to winners of the secondary school quiz competition.
Government Senior College Ketu, Epe, Lagos emerged as the winner.
The second position was won by Government Senior Model College Ikorodu, while the third position was won by Isashi Senior Grammer School Isashi, Ojo and Ijaiye Ojokoro Senior High School Ijaiye, Lagos.
