When policyholders pay a premium for insurance products, all they need from insurers is an assurance just as captured in the lyrics of the song ‘Assurance’ by multi-award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter David Adeleke – Davido.

A verse of the song says: “She say give me assurance
Assurance
I give my baby assurance
I give my baby lifetime insurance
Assurance, assurance
I give my baby assurance
I give my baby lifetime insurance.

The assurance Davido promised her baby, who is now his wife was paid as a claim, when he wedded her on June 25, 2024.

Just like Davido, insurance operators should abide with the promised assurances they pledged to policyholders and ensure that their genuine claims are paid and celebrated.

Broken assurances can be considered as a bane for the slow growth and development of the insurance industry.

As the joy of every woman is seeing her man fulfill his pledged assurance, so also is policyholders joyous when their insurance claims are paid promptly.

Davido gained huge public respect when he fulfilled his pledged assurance and married his wife Chioma, in like manners, insurance companies are respected for honouring their claims responsibilities.

To remain respected and continue to make steady progress, insurance companies should sell their products backed with assurance like Davido and ensure they fulfil their promise as he did.
