I have the utmost delight and privilege to welcome you all to this great occasion of the launching of the Insurance Broking Coursebooks, which is one of the five arms of the post-qualification levels. The others are the course books on loss adjusting, micro-insurance, oil/gas and takaful.
This post qualification routes are being followed in order to ensure that qualified professionals are those who will proceed in specliaising in any desired area from broking to loss adjusting to Takaful, to microinsurance and/or oil and gas aspects of insurance business.

To this end, the Institute have partnered with the sister organisations in the industry like the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) and Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria (ILAN) to produce the first set of technical coursebooks on the segments in the country.

Today, the Institute, in partnership with NCRIB, is launching the Insurance Broking course books at three levels of assessments namely; Foundation, Intermediate and Associateship which culminated into the outcome of enlightening and equipping members to proceed into insurance broking professionals.

The goal is to provide and equip our professionals with knowledge that is tune with the realities and demands of modern-day insurance broking practice. To bring this home, these books being launched were designed in line with the new syllabus of the concerned courses, the contents of which will take our industry to greater levels and improved standards. so we do not fall below already set standards.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, while it is not my duty to review the book, it is perhaps pertinent to say a few things about the books. The co-authors provided a general overview of the broking, and identified the factors therein, the course book is in three different stages namely; Foundation (PFO1), Intermediate (PA01) and Associate (PI01).

This study text is intended to introduce the fundamentals and managerial operations of insurance broking in an insurance market that is constantly evolving, and to demonstrate the importance of this profession within the insurance industry as a whole.

It is also pertinent to extend our gratitude to CIIN Past President Eddie Efekoha, under whom the domestication of our coursebooks began and the Immediate Past President Muftau Oyegunle, who continued with the exercise and handed same over to me.

We encourage every individual and corporate members of the Industry to acquire at least two sets of these books for their libraries, and also work in partnership with the Secretariat towards donating the books to academic institutions, families and friends. After today, a set of the coursebook will cost Twenty-Five Thousand Naira (N25,000.00) only as a pack, while each one comes at a unit cost of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00).
