CIIN invites entries for October 2023 professional examinations

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), today, Thursday, June 1, 2023 opened entries online at for interested persons within and outside insurance industry to enter for October 2023 professional examinations of the institute.

The Director-General of CIIN, Mrs. Abimbola Tiamiyu, in a document entitled: ‘Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria October 2023 Examinations’, said the entries commenced on Thursday, June 1, 2023 and will end on Monday, July 31, 2023, adding that entries are also invited from professionals – associates and fellows for post-AIIN 2023 October diet examination in loss adjusting practice and insurance broking practice from Thursday, June 1, 2023 to Monday, June 31, 2023 and that late registration will be from Tuesday, August 1 to Monday, August 14, 2023.

She stated that persons desirous of sitting for the institute’s examinations are required as pre-requisite to register as members of the institute.

She submitted that candidates seeking to commence the examination must have passed the SSCE or GCE examinations with credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more that two sittings, while candidates for post-AIIN examination must be holders of AIIN/FIIN.

Mrs. Tiamiyu, on the fees, noted that students membership fee (new members) is N4,000; annual subscription, N5,000; building levy, N5,000; annual library fee, N5,000; exemption fee (same as course fee); non-refundable entry fee, N12,500; transcript fee, N10,000 (within Nigeria) and N20,000 outside Nigeria; chief examiners’ report, N1,000
and foundation (F01-F08) course fee, N7,500.

Other fees are; foundation coursebook (hard copy), N2,500; intermediate (101-109) course fee, N9,500; intermediate coursebook (hard copy) N4,000; associateship course fee, N15,000; associateship coursebook (hard copy), N4,000; post AIIN coursebook: (PF01-PF05) – hard copy N10,000; (P101-P105) -hard copy N10,000; (PA01-PA05) – hard copy N10,000; late entry fee, N5,000; change of examination centre fee, N5,000 and change of course fee, N5,000.

The Director-General said international candidates also have the same timelines, except that the fee is in Dollars.

She noted that the rebates on fees are available to undergraduates of any discipline from any government accredited institution in Nigeria and that request for change of subject and/or centre, closes Monday, August 14, 2023.

She maintained that withdrawal from examination after Monday, August 14, 2023, is not allowed, stressing that withdrawal from examination after the date will lead to forfeiture of all fees paid for the examination.

She submitted that hard copies of coursebooks are available at the secretariat and designated CIIN chapters nationwide and representatives, adding that tutorial classes are advised and list of accredited tutorial centers are available on the website through this link:
