The Guild of Marine Surveyors has opened up space for more members to be integrated into its group life insurance scheme.

President of the Guild Wale Adetoro, at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held yesterday in Lagos, said the group life insurance scheme for members, has a benefit cover for death, disablement and medical, whilst imploring interested members to joint the scheme, which premium is just N5,000.

He noted that the Guild recorded new members who joined in the course of the year, adding that good times await them in the Guild, than when they were operating on their own.

Adetoro submitted that the Guild as part of esteeming professionalism produced new identity cards for all financial members and also updated names of members on the websites.

He said the organisation had maintained a cordial relationship with the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) as revealed in the delivering of keynote paper in one of its functions by the Director General of the NIA Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, during the year and as usual, two members of the Guild were invited by the Marine Office Committee (MOC) to deliver papers at their internal workshop held in Lagos, hoping to sustain the relationship.

He also stated that the Guild is maintaining its membership of the International Institute of Marine Surveying, London by remitting its annual subscription as at when due, noting that the subscription has astronomically gone up due to the nation’s currency exchange rate, as they do pay in Naira.
