Insurfeel: Spreading insurance goodness through feeling

Chuks Udo Okonta

Yearly, insurance regulator and operators spent million of dollars on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), donating products of other sectors to impact lives, without giving out their products which are well designed to soothe pains at the time of risks.

They donate food items; education materials; buildings amongst other things, to stimulate public interest on insurance. But can the donation of a building to a school actually make students buy insurance? Can the erection of road crossing signs stimulate interest for insurance? Can the donation of food items, education materials aid insurance uptake?

According to the Commissioner for Insurance Sunday Thomas, prompt claims payment is the best advertorial for an insurance firm. But how would claim payment be possible, if they have insurance policies.

Imagine an impact N10,000 health insurance donated to an individual for a year would create around the beneficiary! Consider what N3,000 premium accident cover donated to an individual would serve at the time of risk! Consider what N7,000 school care policy awarded to a student, against the death of their caregiver, would serve when the student needs money to remain in school!

This is where Insurfeel which is spreading insurance goodness through feeling from claims becomes necessary measure to enhance insurance uptake.

Insurfeel an initiative developed by the Publisher of Inspenonline, Chuks Udo Okonta, was designed in line with – ‘The Suya Seller Strategy’ – which entails tasting before buying. It stemmed from a research conducted which showed that people who have had positive experience on how insurance works seem to believe and easily embraced the system. This research therefore, necessitates the need to extend insurance experience to more people so as to deepen insurance penetration, provide safety and enhance insurance industry’s profitability.

Insurfeel is targeted towards specific individuals, such as; Students in secondary schools, teachers and people with distinct impact on lives and the society. They would be selected due to their outstanding performance and contributions to human growth.

The initiative is opened to people committed to philanthropy. It is my belief that insurance remains one of the best instruments to fight poverty and make the society a comfortable place for Mankind.

Through Insurfeel, organisation can by means of Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) donate insurance policies as souvenir and gifts to deserving members of the public.

Groups such as Non Governmental organizations (NGO) committed to improved wellbeing of the citizenry should leverage Insurfeel to assist the need mitigate their risks.

Insurance companies should leverage Insurfeel to donate their products as against the present trend where products from other sectors are donated to the public.
