The investiture of Prince Babatunde Oguntade as the 22nd President of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) will hold on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, by 4:00pm.

Profile of Prince Babatunde Oguntade

The Life of Prince Babatunde Adeleke Oguntade, FCIB can be attributed to that of divine grace and tenacity of purpose. Prince Babatunde Adeleke Oguntade, FCIB, born on Tuesday, June 25, 1963 at Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, South West, Nigeria.

Prince Oguntade, a scion of the Royal Families of Adebugbe of Isote, Makun in Sagamu, Remo Land and Erinja Quarters of Ajilete, Yewa South to Omooba Samuel Oluwole Oguntade and Princess Victoria Adebola Oguntade. From the days of little beginning, Oguntade had in mind that through thick and thin, he could rise to be prominent and influential; he burnt the candles of the night to etch his name in the sand of history as one of the foremost business and insurance executives that the Nigerian Insurance Industry could be proud of.
An Insurance Broker by divine providence, Young Babatunde started his Primary education at Christian Mission Primary School, Itire Road, Mushin in Lagos at age four haven lost his mother at three and had to follow his father to School and got registered. His father’s movement as a teacher caused him to attend four Primary Schools, before he obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate at Saint Jude’s Anglican Primary School about fifty years ago.

Being the first son of his Parents, who were both Teachers, Babatunde naturally had the opportunity of early education. He proceeded to Mayflower Secondary School, Ikene. Unfortunately, he could not cope with the pressure and environmental condition due to his fragile nature then; he had to return to Lagos to start his Secondary School Education afresh. Afterwards, Prince Oguntade gained admission into Lagos African Grammar School, Ifako Agege where he completed his O’Level studies.
While waiting for the result of the A’ Level examination, Prince Oguntade was engaged at the National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria (NICON), that was the beginning of his foray into the world of Insurance. Babatunde showed much interest in the Insurance Business from the moment he joined the National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria. In his quest for knowledge and determination to rise through ranks, he determined to further his education and obtained Advance Diploma in Insurance and Investment from University of Lagos.

Even though, it is popularly said that Change is inevitable and growth is optional, Babatunde did not go where the path was just leading, he rather went left the employment of National Insurance Corporation to join Country & City Insurance Brokers Limited where he rose to the level of General Manager/Chief Executive Officer. He was at this organization till 2004. Mr. Oguntade’s desire to leave no stone unturned in being the best in any of his chosen endeavours in spite of his tight schedule, he determined to further his education and sought admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye where he obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Furthermore, Babatunde obtained his Master in Business Administration (MBA), Insurance & Risk Management from Wisconsin International University, United State of America. He also attended National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), where he obtained Bachelor of Laws.

After he had garnered outstanding and relevant professional certifications both within and outside Nigeria, Babatunde Oguntade quitted paid employment to found Lectern Insurance Brokers Limited, a company that is well known for its transparency, etiquette and professionalism has become a household name in the insurance industry and earned the trust and confidence of the insurance public. Today, after about 19 years of existence, Lectern Insurance Brokers Limited ranks as one of the most forthright and credible Insurance Broking Firms in Nigeria’s Insurance market. He is the founding Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Company till date.

Prince Babatunde Adeleke Oguntade is a cool headed and seasoned Insurance practitioner, a sound broker who has contributed to the Nigerian Insurance Industry for about 42 years consciously with a track record of integrity and candor. These exemplary qualities have earned him many honours and accolades. He is widely travelled and has attended conferences, trainings and seminars across the world such as United Kingdom, Canada, Dubai, Malta South Africa as well as other African Countries.

Aside his intellectual contributions to the growth of the Nigerian Insurance Industry, Oguntade has built a robust social capital that cut across the major arms of the industry.

Oguntade is a Certified Insurance practitioner with his membership of Chartered Insurance Institute of London. He is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, (CIIN); Member, Nigerian/American Chamber of Commerce; Member, Faculty of Risk Managers, (FARIM); Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM)(Chartered); Member, Institute of Freight Forwarders (IFT); a Fellow of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers; Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC); Fellow, Institute of Leadership Management and Manpower Development (ILMMD); Member, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and has been Governing Board Member of the Council for over 13 years.

Currently, Prince Babatunde Oguntade is the Deputy President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers having served a two year tenure as the Vice President of the Council, from 2019 – 2021.

Babatunde Oguntade is a Member of Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, Lagos; Rotary Club District 9110 Member, Remo Indigenes Club, Sagamu; Yewa Descendant Association, Lagos; Member, Kosofe Auxiliary Bible Society, Lagos and International Council of Community Churches (USA).

He is a visiting facilitator and Resource person to Lagos State Farm Centre, Agege, under Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives and Grand Patron, Exemplary Family Social Club, Lagos
Babatunde Oguntade is a devoted Christian of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) and actively involved in the service of the Lord and serves a Superior Evangelist.

On Community and Social Services, Prince Oguntade belongs to a number of philanthropic clubs, which includes but not limited to: Cause to Smile; Celestial Samaritans, Care Heritage and Rotary Polio Plus Society.

Prince Oguntade and his amiable console has interest in the Real Estate Sector, Agriculture, Oil & Gas through the following organisation;

– Lectern Trust and Investment Limited.

He is happily married to the love of his life, best friend and soul mate, Olori (Dr) Oluremilekun Oguntade and the marriage is blessed with three upwardly mobile Children and Grand Children
