RIMSON holds national confab, invests Akalonu as 6th president

Risk Managers Society of Nigeria (RIMSON) is set to hold its National Risk Management Conference on Wednesday, 23rd and Thursday, 24th October, 2019 at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

A statement by RIMSON’s Media Consultant, Joseph Obah, stated that the conference, which has the theme as:”Emerging Risks:Rising to the Challenge”, will be flagged off by Babajide Sanwo-Olu,Executive Governor of Lagos State.

He noted that the theme,focusses beckoning challenges and the attendant opportunities they engender for individuals, business es and the Nation, adding that the sub-theme topics include: Cyber Risks:A National Action-plan; Artificial Intelligence and Liability Issues; NDPR/GDPR Data Protection and Privacy Regulation Issues; Digital Marketing:Focusing Regulatory Challenges; Managing the Risk of Climate Change:Options for Nigeria; The Role of Judges as risk managers in a Constitutional Democracy; ERM-A Call out to Women; Winning the Financial Inclusion War focusing the Retail Approach and Reaching, Surpassing the Critical Frontiers in Risk in Risk Management Advocacy and Population explosion, the inherent risks and opportunities.

He posited that the conference has drawn respected Guest Speakers including the theme speaker, Wole Oshin,,GMD,Custodian Investment PLC, HE Dr Kanayo Nwanze, former president of IFAD and current Co-Chair Program Committee AGRA, Justice Oyewole Olubunmi, Justice of the Court of Appeal and Dr Emmanuel Eze, Executive Director, System-Spec,Nigeria. Others are Ms Tola Adegbayi, Executive Director, Leadway Assurance Limited, Olubunmi Aboderin-Talabi,Chairperson, Executive Council, WIMBIZ, Ayeni Ekundayo, an iconic Digital Marketing Expert as well as MD/CEO AIICO Insurance PLC, Fajemirokun.

He stated that Raymond Akalonu will be invested as the Society’s 6th President on Thursday 24th October, 2019 at the same venue.
