AIICO Insurance Plc has reiterated the importance of travel insurance for individuals that desire to migrate abroad for work or study.
The Head, Travel Insurance Unit, AIICO Insurance Plc, Mrs. Oyeronke Adebayo, who spoke at the Work And Study Abroad Fair (WASAF) organised by Gemsland Study Abroad & Tours, today in Lagos, said travel insurance provides cover for foreign travelers in the event of accident, sickness or loss of their belongings whilst on the journey.
According to her it is a complete insurance plan that fulfils the need of the traveling public and immigration authorities of foreign countries.
She submitted that AIICO Travel Insurance Plan (International) is in partnership with AIG South Africa, which is a leading international insurance organisation serving customers in more than 100 countries and jurisdictions globally.
She noted that the policy provides compensation to airline passengers on international routes who purchase flight tickets and pay the requisite premium against losses.
She maintained that the premium payable to enjoy the plan is dependent on the specified destination and duration of stay, hence, it has been determined taking into account the competitive nature of the the travel insurance market.
She said the firm has policies for Schengen, South Africa and Worldwide, adding that the premium for people that are between three months and 71 years and traveling to Schengen Countries or South Africa for a period of one to three days is N3,000.
On the worldwide cover, she noted that individuals within the age of six to 71 years, traveling for one to three days will pay N4,200, adding that there is different premium rates for durations of stay, age and destination.
On claims settlement, Mrs. Adebayo said at AIICO, prompt claims settlement is a solemn promise.
She noted that the firm’s pricing system is flexible and designed to manage customer ‘s cost-to-cost ratio.
Executive Director, Gemsland Study Abroad & Tours, Olugbenga Adebiyi, appreciated AIICO Insurance for supporting the event, adding that the company would continue to partner frontline companies like AIICO in its bids to contribute more to the nation.
