Lagos State seals Multipak Nigeria over untimely death of factory worker

Lagos State Government has sealed Multipak Nigeria Limited, a plastic production factory at Plot F8, Kudirat Abiola way, Oregun, Lagos for violation of safety rules and regulations, poor house keeping and lack of signage which led to the untimely death of one Femi Olatunde, a factory worker who got his head stocked while operating one of the machines.

The Director General, Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC), Mojola, at the sealin, said the State had declared zero tolerance on factories and private organisations that violates safety rules and regulations.

He stated that Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration is passionate about safety of lives and properties of its citizenry.

According to him, on no account should any factory operate without putting in place safety equipment, quality house keeping, signage, good wiring system and clean environment devoid of hazards to the lives of workers and visitors.

He urged organisations and individuals to embrace best practice in international safety operations to prevent fatal incidence that endanger lives adding that safety of lives and property is our collective responsibility.

He warned factories that violates safety rules will be severely sanctioned.
